19740604 r-74-15RESOLUTION NO. R-74-15
The following Resolution was adopted by the City Council
of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, at its regularly scheduled
meeting held in Council Chambers on June 4, 1974.
WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways of the Common-
wealth of Virginia is ready to award a bid in connection with
the improvement of 0.560 miles of Route 236 within the City
from Estel Road to Roberts Road and eight other intersections
on Routes 123, 236 and 29-211 all of which improvements are
designated as projects 5506-151-101, PE-101, C-501, and
Federal Project T-5506(10) and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to participate in
the approval of designs and plans and the letting of the bid
referred to above and further to agree to participate in the
actual cost of the project and maintain the improvements in a
satisfactory fashion and
WHEREAS, the State Highway Department has provided the
City with a form agreement which would accomplish the foregoing
and which agreement contains other necessary undertakings on
the part of the City and which agreement has been read in full
by each member of Council voting hereon.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, that the Council hereby authorizes
the City Manager to execute the aforesaid agreement after it has
been approved by the City Attorney as to form and to forward the
same in triplicate to the State Highway Department.
