The following resolution was adopted by the City
Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia at its regularly sched-
uled public meeting held at the Council Chambers at City Hall on
July 16, 1974.
WHEREAS, by resolution adopted on May 7, 1968, the
City Council established a Housing Advisory Committee for the
purpose of studying housing needs and requirements in the City
and
WHEREAS, by resolution adopted on March 3, 1970, the
City Council established a Historical Museum Study Commission
for the purpose of studying the possibility of creating a his-
torical museum in the Fairfax Elementary School and
WHEREAS, the missions of both the Housing Advisory
Committee and the Museum Study Commission have now been accom-
plished and there being no further necessity for their continued
existence,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA that the aforementioned resolutions
should be and they hereby are rescinded and the Housing Advisory
Committee and the Museum Study Commission should be and they
hereby are abolished and discontinued with the City's gratitude
to those citizens who have given of their time to serve as
members of those respective bodies.
