WHEREAS, it is necessary for a formal request to be made to
the Department of Highways of the Commonwealth of Virginia by the
Council of the City of Fairfax by resolution for each project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, at its regular meeting on this 15th day of
October, 1974 that:
(1) The Highway Department of the Commonwealth of Virginia
be and it hereby is requested to not proceed further with the pro-
ject within the City of Fairfax, Virginia, to widen Route 123 from
the Southern City Limits through the City, specifically, State
Highway Project No. 0123-151-103, C-503.
(2) The Highway Department of the Commonwealth of Virginia
be and it hereby is requested to consider a western by-pass of
Route 123 outside the City Limits.
(3) The Council does hereby request that the Highway Depart-
ment of the Commonwealth of Virginia properly improve the existing
Route 123 within the City with the installation of curb, gutter
and sidewalks.
