WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia has been informed that a T-33 type aircraft is
available from Navy surplus, and
WHEREAS, a similar type aircraft is now in
place in Van Dyck Park and has by all reports been
unanimously accepted by the younger generation, and
WHEREAS, there are other parks in the City
of Fairfax where such a piece of equipment could provide
fun for the children,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia that the City
Manager be directed and authorized to take such action
as may be necessary to procure this gift from the
Department of the Navy.
