JOINT RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE FAIRFAX-
FALLS CHURCH COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND
MENTAL RETARDATION SERVICES BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Fairfax, Virginia, and the City Councils of the Cities of Fair-
fax and Falls Church, Virginia, have heretofore established a
Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services Board,
pursuant to the provisions of Section 37.1-195, Code of Virginia,
1950, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County
and the City Councils of the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church
now desire to take certain steps to implement a program of com-
munity mental health and mental retardation services;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it jointly resolved by the Board of
Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia, and by the City Councils
of the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginia:
1. That the application of the Fairfax County Hospital
and Health Center Commission for a grant in aid of the construc-
tion of physical facilities in two locations for the use of the
Fairfax-Falls Church Mental Health Center be, and it hereby is
approved and endorsed.
2. That the Community Mental Health and Mental Retarda-
tion Services Board is requested to endorse said application and
expedite its review and approval by the State Department of
Mental Hygiene and Hospitals.
3. That they approve the appointment of Dean A. Porter,
Director of Finance for Fairfax County, Virginia, a fiscal agent
for the receipt and disbursement of any funds arising out of
said application.
