JOINT RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE FAIRFAX-
FALLS CHURCH COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND
MENTAL RETARDATION SERVICES BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Fairfax, Virginia, and the City Councils of the
Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginig, have
heretofore established a Community ~ental Health and Mental
Retardation Services Board, pursuant to the provisions
of Section 37.1-195, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County and
the City Councils of the Cities of Fairfax and'Falls Church
now desire to take certain steps to implement a program of
community mental health and mental retardation services;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it jointly resolved by the Board
of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia, and by the City
Councils of the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginia:
1. That the plan and budget for Fiscal Year 1972 for
joint mental health and mental retardation services is
approved.
2. That the ~ity Councils of the Cities of Fairfax
and Falls Church, Virginia hereby authorize the County of
Fairfax to apply to the Virginia DePartment of Mental Hygiene
and Hospitals for assistance as is provided for by Chapter 10
of Title 37.1, .Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and
authorize the County Executive of Fairfax County to execute
grant applications for assistance to he, administered by the
Fairfax-Falls Church Community Mental Health and Mental
Retardation Services Board.

3. That they join in approving the appointment by
the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Mental Health and
Mental Retardation Services Board of Dean A. Porter,
Director of Finance for Fairfax County Virginia, or his
successors in office, as fiscal agent for said Board and
for the purpose of receiving and disbursing funds received
from any source by or fo~ said Fairfax-Falls Church Com-
munity Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services Board.
