19710119 r-71-1 R-71-1 ] - ] 9- 7 ] RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the owners of the Fairfax City Holiday Inn, located on the easterly side of State Route 123 between State Routes 29-50-211 and Interstate Route 66, have requested the State Highway Commission approve a grading plan for the lowering of a bank on the State right-of-way ~n front of its property, and WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has heretofore been issued a permit allowing it to plant certain trees and shrubbery thereon in order to beautify the right-of-way and improve the appearance of the main access to the City of Fairfax from the North, and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the lowering of the bank in accordance with the grading plan of Long & Rinker, Engineers, of danuary 13, 1971, would materially improve its appearance, along with the seeding and planting of shrubs and trees, now, therefore, it is RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fairfax, in open session at its regular meeting of January 19, 1971, requests that the State Highway Commission approve a grading plan of Long & Rinker, Engineers, of danuary ]3, ]97], allowing the Fairfax Motel Corporation to lower~ the bank in accordance with such plan, at no cost to the State or to the City, as the City Council is of the opinion that this is an unusual circumstance where such work would improve the appear- ance of the said right-of-way.
