19691104 r-69-24 RE S OLUT I ON R-69-24 WHEREAS, the President of the United States, in his November third address to the Nation requested support from the American people for his attempts to find a way to an honorable and lasting peace in Vietnam; and WHEREAS, we feel that support of our President in ways to find an honorable and lasting peace is our duty, not only to our country but to the memory of the more than 40,000 Americans who have given their lives in what they accepted as their duty to their country; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Fairfax wholeheartedly supports the President in his efforts to find an honorable and lasting peace in Vietnam and in the world; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to the President of the United States of America, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and to the other jurisdictions in Northern Virginia.
