19690121 r-69-2RESOLUTION R-69-2 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, desires to build a new high school to be owned by the City of Fairfax; and WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, approved the sale of $6,500,000 of general obligation bonds of the City of Fairfax for this purpose on December 17, 1968; and WHEREAS, the City of Mairfax, Virginia, through its planning processes, has designated a parcel of land on Route 237 in the City of Mairfax, Virginia, for school purposes; and WHEREAS, the School Board of the City of ?airfax, Virginia, has found it necessary to condemn a portion of said land; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, endorses and approves of the intention of the School Board of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, to file such condemnation proceedings as may be necessary to acquire forty-five acres, more or less, of property located on Route 237 in the City of Fairfax, some- times known as the Orr Tract, for the purpose of constructing a high school to be owned by the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
