19680604 r-68-4RESOLUTION R-68-4 WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax deems it necessary for public p'rDposes to acquire for park and-recreational use that certain parcel of land containing 17 acres, more or less, owned by Gerson Brownstein and situated approximately 750 feet west of Route 123 and approximately 400 feet south of West Street in the City of Fairfax, more particularly described in Deed BookG12, page 254, among the Land Records of Fairfax County and as shown on City of Fairfax Tax Map No. 57-3, Sec- tion 2, Parcel 7; and WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has heretofore made a bona fide offer of purchase to the owner of the aforesaid property which offer has been rejected and no agreement can be reached between the City of Fairfax and said owner on the compensation to be paid therefor, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that a public necessity exists for an acquisition of the aforesaid parcel of land and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney shall forthwith institute proceedings to acquire said land by condemnation.
