Resolution Approving the City's Submission to the Northern Virginia Transportation
Commission (NVTC) for FY201-66 Commuter Choice Funding
WHEREAS, In January 2017, the NVTC and the Commonwealth signed a 40-
year MOA authorizing NVTC to use toll revenues from I-66
Inside the Beltway (ITB) to fund multimodal transportation
projects; and
WHEREAS, The NVTC is currently soliciting project applications with the
FY20 call for projects; and
WHEREAS, Projects recommended for consideration must be benefit the toll
payers and move more people through the 1-66 Inside the
Beltway corridor; and
WHEREAS, The City's recommended project for NVTC and CTB
consideration is the City of Fairfax Bikeshare Connection to the
I-66 Corridor. This project meets the eligibility requirements and
is a priority for the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Fairfax, Virginia
that the City Council hereby approves the submission to the
Northern Virginia Transportation Commission the request for
Commuter Choice Funding for the City of Fairfax Bikeshare
Connection to the I-66 Corridor.
