Resolution Approving the City's Submission to the Northern Virginia Transportation
Authority (NVTA) for FY 17-22 Regional Surface Transportation Program Funding
WHEREAS, the City applies annually to the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority
(NVTA) for Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) funds and/or Congestion,
Mitigation, and Air Quality (CMAC) funds, which are administered by the Virginia
Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, RSTP funds are federal funds that may be used by localities for projects to
preserve and improve the conditions and performance on any Federal -aid highway, construct
bridge and tunnel projects, construct pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, and implement
transit capital projects.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that the City Council hereby approves the submission to the Northern Virginia
Transportation Authority the request for funding of the following project for a total of
$1,000,000:
1. Roadbed Reconstruction
