AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 90, ARTICLE II,DIVISION 3, OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX,VIRGINIA, PERTAINING TO REAL ESTATE
PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS, DEFERRALS AND FREEZES FOR CERTAIN
ELDERLY AND DISABLED TAXPAYERS.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Chapter 90,
Article II, Division 3 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to real estate
property tax exemptions, deferrals and freezes for certain elderly and disabled taxpayers, is
hereby amended as follows:
Sec. 90-74. - Criteria for tax exemption, tax deferral or tax freeze.
Tax exemption, tax deferral, tax freeze, or a combination of tax freeze and tax deferral
shall be granted to persons who qualify under the following provisions (each of which must
be satisfied):
(3) The gross combined income of the person or persons claiming
eligibility under this division must be determined by the city manager
to be an amount not in excess of$627000700 S72,000.00 during the
taxable year immediately prior to any applicable taxable year for tax
exemption, tax deferral or tax freeze.
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
