R-14-14 RESOLUTION NO. R-14-14
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT
WHEREAS the mission of the Emergency Operations Center is to act as centers for
supporting disaster operations, and;
WHEREAS to adequately support this mission the centers needs to be properly
equipped and staffed, and;
WHEREAS the State of Virginia has awarded the City of Fairfax grant funds in the
amount of $25,000 in order to assist in equipping the Emergency Operations Center,
contingent upon the governing body's acceptance of those funds, now therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia that the City
Manager and his designees are hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the named
applicant, a public entity established under the laws of the State of Virginia, any actions
necessary for the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance provided by the Federal
Emergency Management Agency and sub-granted through the State of Virginia as described
above.
