RESOLUTION NO. R-14-05
RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF FAIRFAX
PUBLIC ART POLICY
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Council recognize the inherent benefit, both physically
and culturally, of a Public Art program in the City; and
WHEREAS,there exists a need for a Public Art Policy in order to implement the
process of Public Art in the City and to establish Guidelines for that artwork; and
WHEREAS,there exists within our City Boards the Commission on the Arts whose
participation and guidance will benefit the City of Fairfax Public Art Policy; and
WHEREAS, it has become apparent to the City Council that many interested and
capable businesses and residents should be given an opportunity to contribute and participate
in Public Art in the City.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Fairfax shall adopt the attached Public Art Policy brought forward by the Commission on the
Arts, Public Art Committee.
ADOPTED this 14th day of January, 2014.
