R-12-66 RESOLUTION NO. R-12-66 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT WHEREAS the mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to assist the community to recover from disaster events, and; WHEREAS to adequately support this mission timely and accurate damage reporting and assessment is an integral component, and; WHEREAS the State of Virginia has awarded the City of Fairfax grant funds in the amount of$130,000, contingent upon the Governing Body's acceptance of those funds, in order to assist in the development of a smartphone app that will allow citizens to provide immediate reports of damage, now therefore; BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,Virginia that the City Manager and his designees are hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the narked applicant, a public entity established under the laws of the State of Virginia, any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and sub-granted through the State of Virginia as described above.
