AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE HUN FLED AND
TWENTY (120) DAYS THE FRANCHISE GRANTED TO VIRGINIA
AND POWER COMPANY BY ORDINANCE ON JULY 20, 1982 (ORDINANCE NO.
1982-24)
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1982-24, adopted by the City of Fairfax, Virginia (the
"City") on July 20, 1982, granted to Virginia Electric and Power Company for a period of
thirty (30) years from and after the final passage of said ordinance the right to use the streets,
alleys, and public places of the City to acquire, erect, install, maintain, and use, and if now
constructed to maintain and use, poles, towers, wires, cables, conduits, ductways, manholes,
handholds, and appliances, in, over, along, on, and under the streets, alleys, and public places
of the City, for the purpose of distributing, transmitting, and selling electric current for light,
heat, and power at any point within the corporate limits of the City; and
WHEREAS the City is in the process

date of the existing franchise as previously extended by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED
City Council of the City of 24 is hereby extended for
Fairfax, Virginia that the franchise granted by Ordinance
an additional one hundred and twenty (120) days from and after its current extended
expiration date,until and through February 14,
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
