An Ordinance to contract the corporate boundaries of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, in order to place certain properties owned by the County of Fairfax, Virginia, with- in said County and to strike the same from the City. WHEREAS, the County of Fairfax, Virginia owns certain parcels of land within the corporate limits of the City of Fairfax, Virginia; and WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia derives no tax revenues from these parcels but must provide services thereto; and WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of both the City of Fairfax, Virginia and the County of Fairfax, Virginia for the County of Fairfax to ha _ .4plete jurisdiction over said parcels of land, THEREFORE, be it ordained: 1. That the following described parcels of land be stricken off from the City of Fairfax, Virginia and be made a part of Fairfax County, Virginia in accordance with the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, § 15.1-1059 et seq: (a) Courthouse lot as described in Liber D No 2, page 373. (b) Old Methodist Church property as described in Deed Book 1591, page 368. (c) Parking lot as described in Liber D No. 9 , page 99. (d) The Police Department and School Administra- tion lot as described in Deed Book 1631, page 196. 2 . That this ordinance be published for two successive weeks in the Fairfax City Times. 3. That this ordinance be posted in at least ten public places within the territory to be stricken off. ADOPTED this 2nd day of December, 1964.
