Virginia Department of Highways regarding Fairfax Residency and Shop Property WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Highways and the Bureau of Public Roads and the City of Fairfax are planning Project #0029-151-101-0501 and #0123-151-101-0501 , and WHEREAS, as a result of this highway construction project there will be raised median strips on Route 123 and on Route 29-211 , and WHEREAS, there is in the northeast quadrant of this intersection a considerable amount of undeveloped commercial property that will , as a result of this project, be less accessible by public road, and WHEREAS, it is desirable to allow for the orderly development of this property with proper interior streets : NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fairfax express to the Virginia Department of Highways their belief that it will be wise for the Department of Highways to reserve a small triangle of land at the southwestern most part of their property known as the Fairfax Residency and Shop Property to allow for future access to this commercial property from Route 123 or the southerly extension of a service road on the east side of Route 123 and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Commissioner of Highways at its central office in Richmond, Virginia.
