Volunteer Week R E S O L U T I O N
•
WHEREAS many citizen volunteers contribute immeasurable
amounts of time, skill and personal service to assisting their
less fortunate neighbors, through both voluntary and governmental
agencies which render essential service; and
WHEREAS there is a great and continuing need for these
unpaid volunteers of all races, creeds and economic levels, who
have long demonstrated their vital importance to the community;
and
WHEREAS the services of these volunteers are indispensable
for the continued success of many private and public agencies and
institutions and community action programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, we the Fairfax City Council do hereby proclaim
the period from October 10 through October 16, 1965, as Volunteer
Week in the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
