Adoption of Updated Northern Virginia Regional Mitigation Plan
WHEREAS the mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to prepare the
community for disaster events, and;
WHEREAS a Hazard Mitigation Plan is an important component of d those preparations and is
required for access to federal relief funds in the event of a disaster, and;
± WHEREAS the Northern Virginia Regional Commission has worked to coordinate a regional
mitigation plan satisfying the requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
and providing cost savings to the City of Fairfax, now therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that the Updated
Northern Virginia Regional Mitigation Plan is hereby adopted as the Hazard Mitigation Plan
s for the City of Fairfax.
