R-12-05 RESOLUTION NO. R -12 -05
APPROVAL OF A LEASE - PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH TD EQUIPMENT
FINANCE FOR THE FINANCING OF SEVERAL VEHICLES AND PIECES OF
EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the Capital Budget including the lease purchase
of four (4) pickup trucks, one (1) Sport Utility Vehicle, three (3) dump trucks, and one (1)
backhoe /loader with annual payments not to exceed $153,000.00 to be paid for five
consecutive years, subject to annual appropriation by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, these vehicles and equipment are needed to replace aging vehicles and
equipment currently in inventory, which have exceeded their current useful lives in addition
to having numerous safety and mechanical issues. In order to continue serving the citizens of
the City while maximizing the safety and effectiveness of the staff in the Public Works
Department, replacement vehicles and equipment are needed.
NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax.
Virginia, that the City Manager is authorized and directed to finalize and execute any
necessary documentation in connection with the above - referenced transaction, in form
approved by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia
1 hereby approves and ratifies each of the resolutions contained in that certain Resolution and
1 1 Certificate of Incumbency to the extent not already contained within this resolution.
