2011-06 ORDINANCE NO. 2011
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 102 - 31 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO INCREASE THE WATER RATE BY 7.5% AND THE
SEWER RATE BY 12 %.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 102 -31,
Article II, Chapter 102 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia is amended to read in its
entirety as follows:
Sec. 102 -31. - Water and sewer service rates.
(a) The rate for water service furnished by the city shall be as follows:
(1) Residential consumers. For the first 5,000 gallons or less per quarter $22.25
and per 1,000 gallons for all water in excess of 5,000 gallons $4.25.
(2) Commercial consumers. For the first 5,000 gallons or less per month $26.16
and per 1,000 gallons for all water in excess of 5,000 gallons $4.25.
(b) The rate for sewer service furnished by the city shall be as follows:
(1) Residential consumers. For the first 5,000 gallons or less per quarter $21.67
and per 1,000 gallons for all water in excess of 5,000 gallons $4.14.
(2) Commercial consumers. For the first 5,000 gallons or less per month $25.49
and per 1,000 gallons for all water in excess of 5,000 gallons $4.25.
(3) Apartment Buildings. Apartment buildings will be billed at a minimum sewer
rate of $16.91 per dwelling unit per month
This ordinance shall become effective July 1, 2011.
