DESIGNATION OF FY 2011- 2012 REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM FUNDS
At a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at which meeting a quorum was present and voting, on a
motion by Councilman Greenfield seconded by Councilman Meyer the following resolution
was adopted by a vote of 5 to 0 with Councilwoman Cross absent.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairfax desires to submit an
application for an allocation of funds of up to $500,000 through the Virginia Department of
Transportation (VDOT) FY 2011 -2012 Revenue Sharing Program; and,
WHEREAS, $500,000 of these funds is requested to fund the following
projects:
1. Burke Station Road Storm Drainage and Road Improvements from Main Street to
Barbara Ann Lane of which the City share is $200,000 and the Revenue Sharing
Program share is $200,000 for a total of $400,000; and
2. Emergency Power Backup Systems for various intersections in the City of Fairfax
of which the City share is $50,000 and the Revenue Sharing Program share is
$50,000 for a total of $100,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Fairfax hereby supports this application for an allocation of $500,000 through the Virginia
Department of Transportation Revenue Sharing Program;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fairfax
hereby grants authority for the City Manager to execute project administration agreements for
any approved revenue sharing projects.
