APPROVAL OF THE DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR THE KAMP WASHINGTON
INTERSECTION SPOT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, the City Council conducted a public
hearing on the design concepts for the Kamp Washington Intersection Spot Improvements
Project;
WHEREAS, during the public hearing the following comments were received:
1. Keep the traffic signal currently located at Fairfax Boulevard and Chestnut Street;
2. Keep the traffic signal currently located at Lee Highway and entrance to the Office
Depot /CVS office complex; and
3. Allow a left turn from Fairfax Boulevard into the entrance of Fairfax Pointe.
WHEREAS, at June 8, 2011 work session, the City Council was presented with
revised design concepts for the Kamp Washington Intersection Spot Improvements
Project and the City Council directed staff to proceed with the project with the revised
design concepts per comments received during the public hearing;
NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, hereby approves the revised design concepts for the Kamp Washington
Intersection Spot Improvements Project that are consistent to the comments received during
the February 23, 2010 public hearing.
