RESOLUTION TO INITIATE AND REFER TO THE PLANNING
COMMISSION A ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT AND A ZONING
MAP AMENDMENT TO CREATE A HISTORIC OVERLAY
DISTRICT FOR THE PREMISIS KNOWN AS 10606 CEDAR AVENUE,
AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL
57-1-02-114.
WHEREAS, a Historic Overlay District with standards may be adopted at such time
as the City Council deems such action to be in the public interest by promoting the general
welfare of the community through the preservation of old and historic places or areas of
historic significance in the city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the general welfare and good
zoning practice require establishment of this new historic overlay district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, refer to the Planning Commission for public hearing and recommendation
proposed text amendments to City Code Chapter 110 Article XX and Zoning Map
Amendment as stated above.
