STACY C. SHERWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER FEE AND FACILITY USE
POLICY
FOR PRIVATE RENTALS
WHEREAS, the City has long planned for a community center to serve the
recreational, cultural needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, the City received a donation in December 2007 from Mrs. Stacy C.
Sherwood to fund the design and construction of a new community center to be located at
3740 Old Lee Highway; and
WHEREAS, the agreement with Mrs. Stacy C. Sherwood states that the space in the
Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center may be used for recreation, arts and other community
use purposes; and
WHEREAS, community use purposes encompass the use by private rentals that will
utilize the space in the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the fees may be established for the use by private rentals to cover
expenses associated with the operation and maintenance of the facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the attached Stacy C. Sherwood
Community Center Fee and Facility Use Policy establishes policy and guidelines for use of
the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center effective immediately;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the administration of the policy will be directed
by the City of Fairfax Department of Parks and Recreation.
