RESOLUTION AMENDING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX
COMMISSION ON THE ARTS
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts has been highly successful in
fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to it; and
WHEREAS, there exists within our City groups that the Commission has identified
whose participation could benefit the City and the arts community; and
WHEF2_EAS, it has become apparent to the City Council that many interested and
capable businesses should be given an opportunity to participate in the work of the
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the membership of the Commission on the Arts is made up of 1 3 City
resident positions, one non-resident position to utilize the GMU and surround arts groups, all
of whom are appointed by the City Council and one representative appointed by the Fairfax
Band,
NOW, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED THAT the Commission on the Arts shall
change the composition of its membership to remove one of the vacant City resident positions
to include a representative of the City business community to serve athree-year term.
