ADOPTION OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX
COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia recognizes the need to
prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and mar~m ade disasters; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has a responsibility to provide for the safety and well
being of its citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has established and appointed a Director and
Coordinator of Emergency Management.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Fairfax Comprehensive
Emergency Management Plan dated 2009 is adopted and that the Director of Emergency
Management, or his designee, are tasked and authorized to maintain and revise as necessary
this document over the next four year period or until such time be ordered to come before this
Council.
