~HEREAS, Carlene Reust agent~ has submitted Application No. SE-08010017 requesting a
Special Except:ion. pursuant: t:o Cit:y Code Sect:ion l10-lS0 (2) (a) (2) t:o allovv a vvall mount:ed

V\THEREAS", City Council has carefully considered the application, the recommendation of
the staff" and the testimony received at the public hearing; and
V\THEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exception is appropriate
-vvith modifications because the proposal meets the requisites established by the City of
Fairfax Code Sections 110-366 and 110-185 for the fol1o-vving reasons:
1) The proposed sigr1age V\lould help motorists traveling """est along Fairfax Boulevard t
ident:ify t:he bank building; and
2) The proposed sign -vvill not negatively affect the safety and movement of vehicular traffi
on the subject property and along Fairfax Boulevard; and
NOVV. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by t:he Cit:y Council or the Cit:y of Fairrax on t:his
day of April S, 200S. t:hat: Applicat:ion SE-OSOl007 be and hereby is APPROVED. VVITH
THE FOLLOVVING CO~ITIONS:
1) The additional signage shall be accomplished """ith one 41 square-foot sign intemally
illuminated and constructed """ith individual lettering that matches the proposed
signage at the main entrance; and
2) The design of the sign-age shall be submitted to the Board of .Architectural RevieV\7 for final
approval prior to installation. During its reviev..r the BAR shall determine the
appropriateness of modifying the design.
