RELATIONS VVITH CITY STAFF
"W"HEREAS,. the City Council for the City of Fairfax has need for detailed information
on a vvide range of subjects in a timely and efficient manner; a11d
~HER.EAS" the City boards,. commission and committees have need Tar detailed
information on matters under their jurisdiction in a timely and efficient manner; and
""W"HEREAS" staff personnel also must provide continuing and responsive service tOo
ongoing functions and citizen requirements;
NOVV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The "M::ayor and City Council shall direct requests for support and conduct their liaison
vvith the City staff through the City :M:anager or his desigrtee; and
2. The chairs of the boards" commission and committees shall direct requests for support
and conduct their liaison v.rith the City staff through the City 1\IIanager or his designee:.

3. The City :M:anager shall inform the :M:ayor and City Council of requests from boards
and commissions of a non-routine nature:. an.d
4. The City :M:a:rrager or his designee shall coordinate such requests, including
determining staff availability, establishing priorities, in..forming the requestor of the
time requirement and other con..siderations relating to the response, and consideration
of v.rider dissemination of the response(s).
