T ASKING THE CITY ATTORNEY
V\THEREAS,. the City Council of the City of Fairfax is attempting to obtain the rnl.)::--:.l
efficient use of legal services provided by the City Attomey; and
~HEREAS, legal costs are directly related "to type and volume of requests~
NOVY'", THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. Requests for legal services, other than routine or explanatory information,. by "-I <- 1\
Council member or members shall be coordinated through the City 1'\I1anagLT ( )\\
matters of an individual nature,. such as possible conflict of interest or Cytl"""\Cl- ::-:'\11\\\.1\
matters,. City Council members may contact the City Attomey directly_
2. Legal services for boards" commission and ccn-rlmittees, other than. routine \e~~d ;1\1...1
explanatory services,. shall be discussed by an authorized representative (norn~all", tl\~
chair or staff representative) of "the board, commission or commit"tee ""ith t1 \"--~ ( \ \,
l\It.anager prior to requesting legal assistance. Further, the City :tv'1a.:n.ager shall n)~,i.l\\~\\\l
a brief record of the requests and shall keep the City Council information u\ ~1\~I\
requests.
