VVHEREAS,. Ted Grefe,. a resident of the City or Fairrax since 1948 \...11Ttil his death in
1989,. had provided extraordinary service to the City as a civic and business leader,. and;
"W"HER.-EAS.. he served vvith distinction as a member of the City Council for t'-""o terms
from 1970 to 1972 aT1d from 1974 to 1976, and '-Vas an.. active member of the Board or Zoning
Appeals for tvvo terms from 1953 to 1970 and 1984 to 1989, and;
VVHEREAS,. he vvas a major developer of several housing communities and office and
commercial buildings in the City of Fairfax,. a past President of the Fairfax Rotary,. a Charter
l'v1cIT1ber of the Jubil-aires" and an avid Clutdoorsman,. and;
VVHEREAS, the City of Fairrax has acquired the properties located at 9910 Barbara
Ann Lane, 4143 Evergreen Drive and 9990 J\I1osby Road as park land for the enjoyment of all
City of Fairfax residents.
NOVY, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, hereby names the referenced properties, in total" as ""Ted Grefe Park'''" in recognition
ofhis many years of dedicated service to the Fairfax community.
