RESOLUTION ON THE FAI:RFAX CIT~
COlVIlVIISSION ON THE A:RTS
VV'"HEREAS, the Fairfax City Commission on the Arts has been highly su.ccessful in fulfilling
the responsibilities assigned to it:;
VVHEREAS", the Commission has identified areas of activity, participation in "\N"hich is
inhibited by the relatively small number of Commission members:
V\THEREAS, it has become apparent to the City Cour1cil that many interested and capable
citizens should be given an opportunity to participate in the VV"ork of the Commission by
expaI1ding its size;
NOVV, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED THAT
1. The membership of the Fairfax City Commission on the Arts shall hereby be
increased by five members, each of-vvho shall serve three-year terms.
2. The members initially appointed as a result of this resolution shall initially serve a
one-year and tV\To-year term. Subsequent appointments at the end or these
respective terms shall be for -the normal three-year terms.
