AN ORDINANCE AlVIENDING SECTION 102-31 OF TIIE CODE OF THE CITY
OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO INCREASE TIIE VVATER AND SEVVER SERVICE
RATE BY' 70'/0.
1. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 102-
31", Article II,. Chapter 1 02 of the Code of the City of Fairfax". Virginia is amended to read
in its entirety as folloV\fs:
Sec. 102-31 "'a-ter and sevver service ra-tes
(a)
The rate for "V\Tater service fumished by the city shall be as fe>11oV\Ts:
(1)
Residencial consumers: For the first 5,000 gallons or less per quarter $17.51 and per
1,000 gallons for all vvater in excess of 5,000 gallons $3.36.
(2)
CcnnTnercial consumers: For the first 5,000 gallons or less per month $20.59 and per
1,000 gallons for all VV"ater in excess of 5,000 gallons $3.36.
(b)
The rates for sev.rer service furnished by the city shall be 89.6 percent of the computed
vv-ater service rate; provided, that. apartment buildings "VV"i11 be billed at a minimum
se"VV"er rate of $12.26 per dV\/"elling UTlit per month

This ordinance shall become effective July 1, 2008.
