AN ORDINANCE AMENDiNG THE APPROVED PAY
PLAN CONTAINED WITHIN THE ADOPTED BUDGET
FOR FISCAL YEAR 05-06 TO INCLUDE A SUBORDINATE
PAY PLAN FOR UNIFORMED FIRE DEPARTMENT
PERSONNEL, AND TO ESTABLISH AN ADDITIONAL
SUBORDINATE PAY PLAN, BEGINNING IN FISCAL
YEAR 06-07, FOR SWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT
PERSONNEL.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, and in accordance with
Sections 66-10 and 66-11(a) of the City Code, that the City pay plan contained within the
adopted City budget for Fiscal Year 05-06 is hereby amended to include a subordinate pay
plan (Attachment 1 to this Ordinance) for all uniformed City Fire Department personnel
below the rank of Fire Chief. This Fire Department new pay plan is hereby made effective
retroactively to the first full pay period in January 2006, which commenced on January 2,
2006.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, that the
City pay plan for Fiscal Year 06-07 as defined in Section 66-1 l(a) shall include, in addition to
the above new subordinate pay plan for the Fire Department, an additional new subordinate
pay plan for sworn Police Department personnel (Attachment 2 to this Ordinance) for all
sworn City Police Department personnel below the rank of Police Chief.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the City Manager, or his designee, are hereby
authorized and directed to take all necessary actions to create the necessary classification
plan(s) in order the implement the two subordinate pay plans.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption, as provided by law.
