AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 90-74(3) AND
90-76, DIVISION 3, ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 90 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA,
PERTAINING TO REAL PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS
FOR ELDERLY OR DISABLED.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, that Section 90-74(3),
Division 3, Article II, Chapter 90 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, is hereby
amended to read in its entirety as follows:
Sec. 90-74. Criteria for exemption.

The gross combined income of the owner during the year immediately preceding
the taxable year must be determined by the city manager to be an amount not in
excess of $52,000.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, that
Section 90-76, Division 3, Article II, Chapter 90 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia,
is hereby amended to read in its entirety as follows:
Sec. 90-76. Calculation of amount of exemption; limitation.
For eligible owners with a gross combined income not in excess of $52,000, the amount of
exemption from real estate tax for any taxable year shall be as set forth below:

$46,001 - 52,000
100% Exemption
50% Exemption
25% Exemption
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
