AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA TO CLASSIFY AS LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL THE
PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS CITY OF FAIRFAX TAX MAP PARCEL 58-2-((1))-pt.
14, WHICH WAS BOUNDARY ADJUSTED INTO THE CITY ON JUNE 15, 2001.
WHEREAS, Pickett Road, LLC, has requested an amendment to the land use map to
include City of Fairfax tax map parcel 58-2-((1))-pt. 14 designated as low density
residential and recommended for low density residential development in the
Comprehensive Plan for the subject property; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after carefully considering the request and the
testimony received at public hearing, determined that the proposed amendment is proper
and in accordance with the applicable provisions of law, the City Code and the
Comprehensive Plan guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has adopted a resolution, pursuant to § 15.2-2225 of
the Code of Virginia, recommending approval of the amendment to the Comprehensive
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after carefully considering the testimony received at public
heating and recommendations from the Planning Commission and staff, determined that
the proposed amendment is proper and in accordance with the applicable provisions of law;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the City's Future Land Use Map is hereby
amended to assign the low density residential land use designation for the subject property.
This ordinance shall be effective as provided by law.
