19980414 1998-9ORDINANCE NO. lgg8-g AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 24-2.1, ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, BY INCREASING WATER CONNECTION FEES AND AVAILABILITY CHARGES, AND AMENDING SECTIONS 24-2.3(a) AND (d) BY DELETING THE REQUIREMENT FOR PAYMENT OF WATER SERVICE CHARGE AND WATER SERVICE DEPOSIT IN ADVANCE OF SERVICE INITIATION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 24-2.1, Article I, Chapter 24 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia is amended to read in its entirety as follows: Sec. 24-2.1 Same-Water Connection Fees, Availability and Frontage Charges. The consumer may request that the city perform the connection, and if the city agrees to perform the connection, the connection charges listed in this subsection (a) shall be increased by one hundred percent (100%). "Occupancy unit means any room or suite of rooms typically rented as a unit containing overnight sleeping accommodations which are separate from any other such room or suite of rooms within the same hotel, motel, or rooming house. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 24-2.3 (a) and (d), Article I, Chapter 24 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia is amended to read in their entirety as follows: Sec. 24-2.3 Same-Miscellaneous charges and deposits. A service charge of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid prior to restoration of water service after termination for nonpayment. (d) Water service deposit-Residential customers.
