AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 13-65, 13-67, AND 13-71.1,
ARTICLE III, OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA CONCERNING VEHICLE LICENSE
TAXATION AND TRANSFER OF VEHICLE LICENSES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Sections 13-65, 13-67, and 13-71.1, Article III,
Chapter 13 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, are hereby
amended to read in pertinent part as follows:
Sec. 13-65.
Amount of tax.

shall be an annual vehicle license tax of twenty-five dollars
($25.00) on every motor vehicle, trailer and semitrailer subject to
this article, except motorcycles, and an annual vehicle license tax
of fifteen dollars ($15.00) for each motorcycle subject to this
article.

Vehicle licenses (decals) must be displayed on all motor vehicles,
trailers or semitrailers on or before the commencement date for the
license year.

Sec. 13-71.1. Transfer of licenses, fees.
(c) Any vehicle license (decal) issued to an owned or leased
vehicle durin the current cit license ear ma be transferred to
or from a leased vehicle rovided that the owner of the vehicle
from or to which the vehicle license decal is bein transferred
and the lessee are the same erson or entit . An vehicle license
decal issued to a leased vehicle durin the current cit license
ear ma be transferred to a different leased vehicle rovided that
the lessee of each leased vehicle is the same erson or entit .
~ ~d) For all transfers set forth in subsections (a).
and (c), ~he owner shall complete an application for such purpose
which shall require the name and address of the application and a
description of the motor vehicle to which such vehicle license is
to be transferred. Such applications shall be accompanied by the
vehicle license (decal) from the previously registered vehicle and
a fee of one dollar ($1.00.)
