AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12, ARTICLE I,
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA,
BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION 12-9.1
CONCERNING PAYMENT OF CERTAIN DELINQUENT TAXES
BEFORE ISSUANCE OF A BUSINESS LICENSE.
1. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Chapter 12, Article I, of the Code of the City of
Fairfax is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 12-9.1 to
read in its entirety as follows:
Section 12-9.1 Payment of Certain Delinquent Taxes
Before Issuance of Business License.
No business license authorized under chapter 37, subtitle III,
title 58.1 of the Code of Virginia shall be issued until the
applicant has produced satisfactory evidence that all delinquent
business license, personal property, meals, transient occupancy,
and admissions taxes owed by the business to the City have been
paid which have been properly assessed against the applicant.
2. This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
