AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-51, ARTICLE X, CHAPTER 8,
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, CONCERNING
THE AMOUNT OF THE TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 8-51, Article X, Chapter 8 of the Code of
the City of Fairfax is hereby amended to read in its entirety as
follows:
Section 8-51 Levy and rate
In addition to all other taxes of every kind now or
hereinafter imposed by law, there is hereby levied and imposed on
every hotel owner and operator, jointly and severally, a tax
equivalent to t~c ~ percent ~ iiiiii~i~!~i of the charge or amount
room ,
paid for total ......... ~ntal by or for any transient to any hotel
less and except any charges for services or accommodations other
than lodging or the use of space. This rate of tax may hereafter
be continued, increased or decreased as provided by law.
This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 1995.
