AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE CERTAIN CABLE TELEVISION,
EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION RATES AND CHARGES OF
MEDIA GENERAL CABLE OF FAIRFAX COUNTY, INC.
AN ORDINANCE to approve the rates charged to cable television
subscribers by Media General Cable of Fairfax County, Inc., for
certain cable television equipment and installation services
provided within the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
1. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that the following uncodified ordinance is enacted.
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia, ("City") has fran-
chised Media General Cable of Fairfax County, Inc., ("Media
General"), to provide cable television service within the City of
Fairfax, Virginia;
WHEREAS, the City is authorized by law to regulate rates
charged by Media General, (i) for the cable television basic
service tier, (ii) for the equipment used to receive cable
television service and (iii) for the installation of such equipment
used to receive cable television service;
WHEREAS, on March 1, 1995, Media General submitted a request
to the city for approval of rates charged by Media General for
equipment and installation services in the City of Fairfax,
Virginia;
WHEREAS, Media General's request for approval of these rates
was submitted to the City in accordance with federal law with the
submission of Federal Communications Commission Form No. 1205;
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered Media General's
request for approval of rates and charges for equipment and
installation services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the rates charged by Media
General for the equipment used to receive cable television service
and for the installation of such equipment used to receive cable
television service, effective September 1, 1995, and after adequate
notice to the public as required by the Code of the City of
Fairfax, shall be:
1. Monthly Rental of Full Service Converter
2. Monthly Rental of Limited Service Converter
3. Monthly Rental of Full Service Remote Control
4. Monthly Rental of Limited Service Remote Control
5. Unwired Home Installation
6. Prewired Home Installation
7. Unwired Additional Connection Installation
8. Prewired Additional Connection Installation
9. Reconnect Service
10. Change Tier Charge-Home Visit

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the rates and charges authorized
by this ordinance shall become effective in accordance with
Section 5.1-30 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
