AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17-10(i)(1) OF ARTICLE I,
CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA,
PERTAINING TO THE PROVIDING OF HIGH OPTION HEALTH INSURANCE
BENEFITS FOR CAREER FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME EMPLOYEES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the city Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 17-10(i)(1) of Article I, Chapter 17 of
the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, is hereby amended to
read in its entirety as follows:
Section 17-10. RmDloyee Compensation..
(i)(1) Health insurance:
The City will offer basic health insurance coverage at the
contribution rates listed below. However, the city managek
may elect to offer additional high option health insuran¢~
coverages with the employee paying the difference i~
premium between the city contribution for basic covera~=
and the high option premium.
Full-time employees:
Employee: 85 percent of premium.
Employee and one, as defined in the health insurance
plan: 75 percent of premium.
Family: 75 percent of premium.
Part-time employees:
For individuals regularly employed, on an average, of
twenty (20) or more hours per calendar week, the city
pays fifty (50) percent of the premium paid for full-
time employees based on type of plan selected.
For individuals regularly employed, on an average of
between ten (10) and twenty (20) hours per week, the
city pays twenty-five (25) percent of the premium paid
for full-time employees based on type of plan
selected.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the remaining subsections of
the section hereby amended shall continue to read as previously
enacted.
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
