AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15-7, ARTICLE II,
CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA,
CONCERNING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE
PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 15-7, Article II, Chapter 15 of the
Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, is hereby amended
in its entirety as follows:
Section 15-7.
Composition; appointment and term~ of office of
members.
The park and recreation advisory board shall consist of

from the various groups within the city having an interest in

members of the advisory board shall be appointed by the city

one (1) shall be a member of the planning commission and one a
member of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority· The
~ ..... ~ tenth member shall be a member of the commission on the
arts who is designated by the commission on the arts. The
twelfth eleventh member shall be a member of the city school
board who is designated by the school board. The ~
twelfth member shall be a nonvoting, advisory, representative
of the city's teen council. Such member shall be a city
resident, chosen by the teen council, and a member of the teen
council at all times during the term of such member of the park

the pleasure of the city council or for three (3) years,
whichever is shorter.
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
