AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13, ARTICLE I,
SECTION 13-26 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, ENTITLED "TRUCKS PROHIBITED
ON CERTAIN STREETS; TRUCK ROUTES," PROHIBITING
THROUGH TRUCKS ON UNIVERSITY DRIVE BETWEEN
KENMORE DRIVE AND STRATFORD AVENUE
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Code of the Commonwealth of
Virginia, the City of Fairfax may restrict through truck traffic
on selected city streets; and
WHEREAS, after introduction of an ordinance and a public
hearing, the City Council is of the opinion that there is an
existing safety problem, the road design is not sufficient for many
larger vehicles and sufficient alternate routes exist;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the city Council of the city
of Fairfax,Virginia, that Section 13-26 of the Code of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, be amended by the addition of subsection (a)
(34) to read in its entirety as follows:
"(34) University Drive from Kenmore Drive to
Stratford Avenue."
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
