AN ORDINANCEAMENDING SECTION 15-7, ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 15 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, CONCERNING A TEEN COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax that Section 15-7, Article II, Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Fairfax is amended to read in its entirety as follows: Section 15-7. Composition; appointment and terms of office members. The Park and Recreation Advisory Board shall consist of thirteen (13) members selected as nearly as possible from the various groups within the City having an interest in park and recreation facilities and programs. Ten (10) members of the advisory board shall be appointed by the City Council, of which one (1) shall be a member of the city Council, one (1) a member of the Planning Commission and one (1) a member of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority. The eleventh member shall be a member of the Commission on the Arts who is designated by the Commission on the Arts. The twelfth member shall be a member of the City School Board who is designated by the School Board. The thirteenth member shall be a nonvoting, advisory, s~=%~%e~representative ~ .... ~- ~x ~ of the City's Teen Council. Such member shall be a City resident, chosen by the Teen Council, and a member of the Teen Council at all t~mes during the term of such member of the Park and Recreation Advisory Board. The member of the City Council shall serve as an ex officio member whose term shall coincide with the term of such council and who shall not be counted to establish a quorum, and shall not have the right to vote, and shall not be permitted to hold any office on the Park and Recreation Advisory Board. Members of the board shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council or for three (3) years, whichever is shorter. This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
