AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-35,
ARTICLE VII, CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA CONCERNING
THE TRANSPORTATION SAFETY COMMISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia that Section 2-35, Article VII, Chapter 2
of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia is hereby
amended in its entirety as follows:
Sec. 2-35. Created; number, appointment and terms of
office of members.
There is hereby created a transportation safety
commission for the city to consist of eleven (11) members
appointed by the city council. The transportation safety
commission shall be composed as follows: Five (5) members
from the general public, one member of the city council, one
member of the city police department, one member of the
department of fire and rescue services, one member
designated by the school board, one member of the city
public works department, and one member designated by the
Fairfax city Chamber of Commerce who shall be a professional
or technical member. The member from city council shall
serve as an ex officio member, shall have no voting rights,
shall hold no office on the commission, and shall not be
counted to establ sh a quorum. °'-~ ~ ~ ~ .....

commission shall serve at the pleasure of the city council
or for two (2) years, whichever is shorter.
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by
law.
