19900410 1990-10ORDINANCE NO. 1990-10 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 13-13(e) AND 13-26(A), ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX AND SECTION 13-96, ARTICLE V, CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, CONCERNING SPEED LIMITS, SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES AND TRUCK ROUTES. BE IT ORDAINED that Sections 13-13(e) and 13-26(a), Article I, Chapter 13 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, are hereby amended in their entirety as follows: Section 13-13. Speed limits. (e) The maximum speed limit on Route 237 Old Lee Hiqhway within the boundaries of the city shall be thirty (30) miles per hour. Section 13-26. Trucks prohibited on certain streets; truck routes. (a) Motor truck traffic is hereby forbidden on the following streets within the city except for the purpose of receiving loads or making deliveries on such streets within the city: (1) Warwick Avenue from Burrows Avenue to Bevan Drive. (2) Burrows Avenue from Warwick Avenue to the northern city limits. (3) Meredith Drive from Routes Warwick Avenue. 2~ ~0-211 Routes 29-50 to (4) Hill Street from Fairchester Drive to dead-end. (10) McLean Avenue from Warwick Avenue to Orchard Street. (11) Oak Street from Route 29-211 south to Route 236. (12) Cedar Avenue from Oak Street east to Route 123. (13) Keith Avenue from Route 236 north to Cedar Avenue. (14) McLean Avenue from Route Routes 2~ 50-211 Routes 29-50 south to Cedar Avenue. (15) Stratford Avenue from Route 123 east to its terminus. (16) Armstrong Street from University Drive east to Sideburn Road. (17) Jean Street from University Drive east to Stratford Avenue. 1990-10 -2 (18) Forest Avenue from Roberts Road to University Drive. (19) Chestnut Street from Route 234 to dead-end. (20) Maple Street from Route 236 to dead-end. (21) Hallman Street from Route 236 to its terminus. (22) Poplar Street from Route 236 to dead-end. (23) Woodland Dive from Route 236 to its terminus. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT Section 13-96, Article II, Chapter 13 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, is hereby amended in its entirety as follows: Section 13-96. Snow emergency routes designated. The following streets or portions of streets within the city are hereby designated as snow emergency routes: U.S. Route 29-50 State Route 123 State Route 236 Old Lee Highway Pickett Road Jermantown Road 1990-10 -3 This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
