AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING AN ASSESSMENT AS PART OF THE FEES
TAXED AS COSTS IN EACH CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC CASE IN
THE GENERAL DISTRICT COURT FOR THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that in each criminal and traffic case filed in the
General District Court of the City of Fairfax, there is hereby
assessed, in addition to all other fees prescribed by law, the
sum of two dollars ($2.00) as part of the fees taxed as costs.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that such fee shall be charged and
collected by the Clerk of the General District Court for the
City of Fairfax in the same manner as other fees are charged
and collected in such cases. The fees shall be remitted by the
Clerk to the City Treasurer and held by the Treasurer subject
to disbursement by the City Council for the construction,
renovation or maintenance of court-related facilities and to
defray increases in the cost of heating, cooling, electricity,
and ordinary maintenance of such facilities.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance shall expire on
July 1, 1991.
This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
